Tapestry Workshop: Sunday, June 18th 9 am – 4 pm         with Susan Martin-Maffei.

A one day workshop in basic tapestry weaving for child with senior adult working side by side, each on a small tapestry loom provided for this class. Students will learn simple interlacing technique and produce a small personal tapestry to take away. All materials are provided. 

Class is limited to 9 children/senior couples (total of 18 individuals). Children are encouraged to invite a favorite senior to be their partner, (perfect for Grand-parents and Grandchildren). Class is meant to be fun as well as a learning project for both age groups. Class fee: $5/person

Watercolor Workshop: Saturday, June 24th, 9 am – 3 pm    with Leigh Ann Smith

Paint the Historic Barn of Long View in Watercolors.6 hour course includes: an introduction to the history of the farmstead and the historic significance of the barn; exploration of watercolor techniques; drawing the barn from life or a reference photograph; transferring a drawing to watercolor paper; painting demo; and guidance for students as they create their own painting. 
Paints, paper, and palettes are provided. Students bring their own pencils, kneaded erasers, and paint brushes. Class is limited to 12 students. Class fee: $5/person
