Frank & Trudy Litto

resizedmagnolia_virginianaIn 2017, the New Baltimore Conservancy lost two long-time members: Trudy Litto, pottery artist and teacher, and Frank Litto, sculptor and painter.  The Littos resided most of their married lives in New Baltimore where they built their home in the woods northwest of the hamlet proper.  In 2011, they generously donated to the Conservancy 26 lovely hemlock-laden acres  abutting the Hannacroix Creek Preserve.  Additionally, the Littos requested that any donations in their memory be made to the Conservancy.

New Baltimore Conservancy is currently soliciting funds to build a kiosk honoring the Litto’s support.  Proceeds from this year’s Taste of History, to be held Saturday, June 9 from  6 to 9 pm in the hamlet will support the commemorative project.  The schematic conceptual design for the kiosk plays off the torii-like entrance to the former Litto residence.  Signage in the kiosk will highlight examples of their work and, upon completion, the kiosk will be framed by a pair of shade-tolerant magnolias to greet Preserve visitors at the Madison Avenue entrance.

Commemorative Kiosk Donations may be sent to
